Playa del Carmen!!! (also a raw file question)

That's it! Vacation is booked. The boy and I are heading to Playa del Carmen just south of Cancun in less than 18 days. I'm so excited. Hopefully I'll be able to get some awesome pictures.

However, I won't be able to edit them if I can't get my computer to work with Raw files. My boyfriend has a canon XSI (I think) that he shoots in Raw format with. I downloaded the necessary patch for Photoshop CS2 and STILL can't get it to work. Even the Adobe DNG Converter won't read them. I have a lot of pictures from earlier this fall when we visited Charlotte, NC and took a motorcycle ride through the mountains that I REALLY want to edit and post here and flickr, but can't! If anyone knows anything, please help!
